Great Burgundy is a rarer and rarer experience for many wine lovers; prices have skyrocketed and quantities are tiny compared to even more famed Bordeaux. But Kansas City is fortunate to have a Burgundian vigneron living in its midst: Mark O’Connell has been quietly buying rows of vines in top Burgundian vineyards for a decade or more and making classic, exquisite wines from them.
